Overview

Katie is feeling quite sad as she watches her friends return from a fun day at the beach and she longs to be able to go there with them. Trying to cheer his friend up, Grooty reminds her of all of the wonderful sleep-time adventures that the two of them have had together so far, and sure enough, that night Katie and Grooty find themselves seaside. And once there, they make a new friend who is unlike any they've ever had before, one who shares the incredible gift of Mermaid magic!

Author Information

D. L. Kruse always wanted to be a zoo keeper but instead lives on the wild Canadian Prairies and shares her home with many rescued animals, including several cats, a GIANT Irish Wolfhound, a pot-bellied pig, half a dozen Guinea pigs, a white rat, a black rabbit, a pond full of goldfish and a single jumping Koi fish, and of course, Grooty Fledermaus, the hairless kitten. Surrounded by her (mostly) furry friends and many, many books, she writes stories for children (and also, under the name of Dianne Greenlay, she pens stories for adventurous teens and adults (The Quintspinner Series).
