Author Information

Jacob Grimm (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859) shared a great love of folktales. Born in what is now Germany, the two scholarly brothers collected hundreds of stories. Their versions of ancient fairy tales preserved these classic stories for future generations. Abigail Halpin lives, draws, and dreams on the Maine coast. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Abigail is a lifelong New Englander and is endlessly influenced by the region's flora, fauna, and rocky shoreline. Abigail's illustrations have appeared in middle-grade novels and picture books, including Itzhak: A Boy Who Loved the Violin and Mouseboat. Haley Stewart is the editor of Word on Fire Votive, the cohost of The Votive Podcast, and the award-winning author of The Sister Seraphina Mysteries, a series for young readers. Haley and her four children live in Florida.
