Author Information

Anna M. Silvas gained her Ph.D. at the University of New England, Australia. Her thesis is now published as The Asketikon of St Basil the Great (Oxford: OUP, 2005). Her first book was Jutta and Hildegard: The Biographical Sources (Turnhout: Brepols, 1998). As an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow, she continued her research in the Cappadocian Fathers. Recently, In a 2006 expedition to Turkey she discovered the locality of St Basil's ascetic retreat.
