Stephen W. Smith lives in Western North Carolina where the mountain vistas, rivers and forests provide the comfort and inspiration for Smith's work as a poet. Smith is the founder of the Soul Care Institute and Potter's Inn organizations committed to the care of the soul. Smith has written several books including the best selling, ""The Lazarus Life"" and ""Soul Custody."" Smith is an author, spiritual director, retreat leader and poet writing in a style of Mary Oliver, David Whyte, Wendell Berry and others.
