Greek Mythology God of Mount Olympus: Myths, Powers, and Legends That Shaped Ancient Greece

Overview

Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus Myths, Powers, and Legends That Shaped Ancient Greece Nominated for the 2026 Anglo-Hellenic League Runciman Award - honoring literary excellence in works on Greece and Hellenic culture. Step beyond the veil of time into a world where thunder obeys the voice of Zeus and destiny is carved by immortal hands. Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus brings the grandeur of the ancient world to life in a modern, cinematic retelling of the Olympian pantheon - where myth, history, and beauty converge. From the cloud-crowned heights of Mount Olympus, twelve divine rulers-and a mysterious thirteenth presence-shaped the fates of gods and mortals alike. Their stories forged the foundations of Western civilization and continue to echo across millennia. In this vivid and accessible retelling, Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus illuminates the power, symbolism, and legacy of each god, blending historical insight with poetic storytelling. Rooted in the ancient texts of Homer, Hesiod, and the classical poets, this book transforms myth into living memory. Their triumphs, rivalries, and passions still shape the myths we tell, the art we create, and the questions we ask about what it means to be human. Inside, you will discover: The vivid myths and sacred origins of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hermes, Demeter, Hestia, Hephaestus, and Dionysus The sacred symbols, powers, and temples that defined their dominion Festivals and rituals that once bound mortals to the divine Themes of power, justice, love, and fate that shaped Greek thought Cinematic black-and-white illustrations inspired by Michelangelo - evoking timeless form, light, and shadow Both educational and inspiring, this beautifully presented edition serves readers of every age - from students and lifelong learners to mythology enthusiasts seeking depth and artistry in storytelling. Perfect for Readers Who Love: Stephen Fry's Mythos, Madeline Miller's Circe, or Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson Illustrated mythology and mythic retellings that blend education, beauty, and reverence for the divine The art, philosophy, and enduring legacy of ancient Greece and its classical civilizations Historical and mythological works that explore the cultural and spiritual roots of Western thought Immersive storytelling that bridges myth, history, and human imagination Book One in the Acclaimed Greek Mythology Series From the storm-forged thrones of Olympus to the silent halls of Hades, from the tempestuous seas of Poseidon to the rise of the Titans-this five-book series unveils the full mythic cosmos of ancient Greece. Reviews

Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus is a vivid and accessible dive into the world of ancient Greece, where legends of Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and others still echo through time. The book offers a clear yet engaging retelling of each god's origins, powers, and myths while also weaving in their cultural and historical significance. What I really appreciated was how it managed to balance storytelling with educational value-making it easy to read but also incredibly informative. I enjoyed how it gave me a deeper understanding of myths I thought I already knew, while also introducing me to lesser-told details that kept me turning the pages. I found this book quite educational. I enjoyed learning about the history of the Greek mythology and its origins as well as the history of mount Olympus. The Greek Gods were amazinging and well written as well as explained- the graphics were awesome. This is a book that I will definitely recommend and purchase as soon as it is released.
