Overview

Pip is a young blacksmith's apprentice, who is one day accosted by an escaped convict, who he aids by providing him with food and a file. Soon after, he is called upon by the mysterious and wealthy Miss Havisham to entertain her. He meets the beautiful but stubborn Estella at the home of Miss Havisham and develops feelings toward her. Later, Pip is sent to London and receives financial support from an unexpected benefactor...Classics Illustrated tells this wonderful tale in colourful comic strip form, offering an excellent introduction for younger readers. Charles Dickens (7 February 1812 - 9 June 1870) is considered the greatest novelist of the Victorian era and created many of the worlds most notable fictional characters, including Fagin, Mr Micawber and Miss Havisham. Henry Carl Kiefer (15 April 1890 - 10 May 1957) was born in Ohio and served in WWI. He started contributing to Classics Illustrated Comics in 1947 and went on to contribute to 34 issues.
