Overview

Bertram Tambling is a soldier, adventurer, and expat from the former Confederate States of America. He has journeyed, fought, and won his way from a drummer boy in the Shenandoah Valley to a decorated colonel in the French Third Republic. Armies of Judgement, the sixth book in the GRAYBACK series, continues his story. In the middle of the grim winter campaigns of the Franco-Prussian War, Bertram finds himself battling not just Bismarck's army but against inept and vindictive superiors, low morale, starvation, and exposure to an unusually bitter winter. When the armistice is finally called, peace remains elusive, for a third army rises from the smoldering ruins; this one aims to destroy the very pillars of society and will rain blood and terror to meet its ends.
