She is a former editor for the science section of the Boston Globe as well as the children's science magazine Muse. In addition to children's books, she has also written many articles for newspapers, magazines, and websites. Her books have received awards from Learning magazine, the Association of Educational Publishers, and the Society of School Librarians International. Her book Football: How It Works (Capstone Press, 2010) was a Junior Library Guild selection. Amber J. Keyser is a former ballerina and evolutionary biologist who writes both fiction and nonfiction for tweens and teens. Her young adult novels include Pointe, Claw and The Way Back From Broken. Her nonfiction titles include Sneaker Century: A History Of Athletic Shoes, Decoding Genes with Max Axiom Super Scientist, and many other titles. Amber lives in Oregon with her husband, two kids, four chickens, and a dog who looks like a Muppet. Katherine Krohn is the author of many books for young readers, including biographies, fiction, and graphic science and history books. Her books on supernatural subjects include Haunted Houses (Capstone Press) and Fortune Telling (Kidhaven Press). Krohn was born in Germany and grew up in the Detroit area. She now lives in the Pacific Northwest, home of many reported bigfoot sightings. Donald Lemke works as a children's book editor. He has written dozens of comic books, including the Zinc Alloy series and the adventures of Bike Rider, and many chapter books for DC Comics. Donald lives in Minnesota with his beautiful wife, Amy, and their not-so-golden retriever, Paulie. Emily Sohn is a freelance journalist in Minneapolis, who covers mostly health, science, environment and adventure for both kids and grown-ups. Among other publications, her work has appeared in U.S. News & World Report, the Los Angeles Times, Smithsonian, Backpacker and Science News for Kids, and she is a contributing writer for Discovery News.
