OverviewPlease note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Grant MacEwan University is an educational institution located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1971 as Grant MacEwan Community College and offered primarily one and two year programs, such as diplomas and certificates. In 1988 it received approval to offer university transfer credit, and in 1999 dropped the word community from its name. Since 2004 it has offered full bachelor's degrees, which are usually only done by universities in Canada. By 2006, the institution was referred to in all publicity materials simply as MacEwan , reflecting the addition of more university-like degree programs. On September 24, 2009, the institution was officially renamed a university.
