She loved to go camping and fishing whenever she could and often brought new people along to teach them these land skills. She enjoyed sewing and teaching younger people important cultural practices. She was an extremely resourceful person and believed that was an important quality to pass on to the younger generation. She had many grandchildren with whom she loved to share her stories. She believed books are a wonderful way to preserve and share her knowledge and stories with more people. Maren Vsetula is a mother and educator. She lived in Nunavut for thirteen years, and visits as much with her sons as much as she can. She loves spending as much time as possible on the land with her sons in the North or South, hiking, paddling, fishing, camping, and dog sledding. Amiel Sandland is an illustrator living in the Toronto area. He studied illustration at Seneca College, eventually specializing in comic arts and character design.
