Is it possible, in this day and age, to focus once again on the form of a city and its territory? What does it mean, and, what is more, what does it imply to reconsider the morphological dimension in designing the contemporary built environment? In the face of the farreaching transformations in the concept of territory in recent years - which are breaking the incremental sprawl mechanism given the different modes, sizes and scalar ratios being involved - and, at the same time, in the face of the crisis in essentially rule-based urban planning, it seems necessary to reconsider the issue of large scale architecture, which lies at the intersection between settlement structures, infrastructural grids and the morphology of territorial substrata.
