OverviewAs an 18 year-old, Bart Hagerman volunteered for military service in April, 1943. Hagerman was wounded in action and hospitalized, then returned to the States and eventually to civilian life. After graduation from college, he accepted a direct commission and was recalled briefly during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Army in 1978 as a lieutenant colonel and a master parachutist.
