Author Information

Beverley Elliott began her career as a paediatric nurse, then went on to become a paediatrician, completing medical school and a 4 year paediatric residency program at McMaster University in Hamilton ON. She established a successful Primary Care and Consulting practice in Burlington ON, but after 7 years moved to join a large paediatric practice in Roswell, NM where she worked until retirement. Beverley is a grandmother of 5 who is now pursuing a life long passion for writing children's books. Her first book, GREYSON'S SHOES, is based on an actual situation involving her autistic grandson Greyson, as is this publication, GRAMMIE'S SUITCASE. She is an advocate of early reading and literacy, and creates captivating and entertaining stories. Her book will appeal not only to children, but also to parents, grandparents, teachers, and caretakers. It is a charming story, beautifully illustrated, which will provide an opportunity to begin a conversation with children about Autism. Beverley believes that society has a responsibility to facilitate understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity of neurodiverse individuals so that they can be the best they can.
