This study of graded rings includes the first systematic account of the graded Grothendieck group, a powerful and crucial invariant in algebra which has recently been adopted to classify the Leavitt path algebras. Roozbeh Hazrat is Associate Professor in pure mathematics at the University of Western Sydney. In 2015 he was awarded a Fellowship for Experienced Researchers by Germany's Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
