Author Information

Ann McClain Terrell has over 35 years of professional experience in the field of early childhood education. She is the director of the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation. Ann was previously the director of innovation and director of early education for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), and served on numerous boards, councils and committees including a recent term on NAEYC Board of Directors. In addition to her work for MPS, Ann mentors emerging early childhood leaders and postsecondary students. She was awarded the Black Women's Network Legacy of Leadership in Education, and the National Black Child Development Institute-Milwaukee Affiliate Early Childhood Recognition Award. She also chaired the task force that led to the creation of Wisconsin's child care rating system, YoungStar.
