Author Information

Ann Loades CBE, best known for her work in feminist theology, was the first woman president of the Society for the Study of Theology, and only the second person to be awarded a CBE for services to theology (the first being C.F.D. Moule). From 1975-2003, she taught theology at Durham University, was a Canon of Durham Cathedral and is now in active retirement in St Andrews. Stephen Burns’ PhD was supervised by Ann Loades. He is Professor of Liturgical and Practical Theology at Pilgrim Theological College, Melbourne, Australia. He is a priest in the Church of England.
