GPS for Leaders of Excellence will rapidly become your dailygo-to reference to keep you on track to live a life that reflects God's Plan for Salvation. In fact, I predict this book will become the second most important book on your nightstand. For many years, as an athlete, husband, father, Air Force pilot, football coach, public affairs expert, pastor, motivational speaker and mentor, Coach Abel has inspired thousands through servant-led leadership. He has a God-given knack for communicating complex thoughts in laymen's terms - plain language that hits home - when we need it the most. I'm proud to call Coach Abel my mentor and friend for the past 45 years and after reading GPS, you'll share that same sense of thanksgiving for this selfless leader. -- Mike Gould Lt Gen, USAF (Ret) Dick Abel continues to preach his message about the importance of people. His head is at the heart of leadership. -- Vern ClarkAdmiral, US Navy (Ret) In an age when leadership is so desperately needed, Dick Abel's collection of leadership nuggets can move one from average to a respected leader. These brilliant truths give life and light to any person who seeks to better themselves or even to be great as a humble servant of Jesus Christ. -- Wayne Atcheson, Historian Billy Graham Library I have known Dick Coach Abel since 1975 when I started my senior year at the USAF Academy. He has been an invaluable leadership coach and mentor throughout my 31 year career in the USAF and now my second career with the Boeing Company. He taught me early on that leadership is all about people and treating them with respect. His new book is a collection of Vector Correctors, which I have been faithfully reading for the past seven or eight years. They are short thoughts to remind a leader what is important when interacting with people and trying to lead and motivate a team. Sometimes a leader just needs a short thought or vector to focus on what really matters. This book will provide that vector! -- Jack CattonMaj Gen, USAF (Ret) Vice President Air Force Systems The Boeing Company The uncommon richness of General Abel's life experience and wisdom, shared here with us, is a treasure. He demonstrates the fundamental connection between full human flourishing and leadership exercised through love, humility, and service. -- Fr. Bill Murphy, SJ
