OverviewThe Aftermath of ""Get Out"" plus Divine Interventions. The fire had burned itself out as we knelt and prayed. We had risen slowly, stunned yet overflowing with praise. Giving all the Glory to God, around us, devastation, and yet, the circle where we had knelt was untouched, almost as if it had been holy ground. The store had burned, and people had become entranced by the fire. One by one, we had reached them, praying and guiding them back to the light and out of the trance of worldly ways. How could anyone possibly understand what had just happened? The aftermath felt unreal-like walking onto the set of a wild movie. I remember stepping out the front door and passing the firefighters, still wondering why their response had taken so long. I knew I was doing His work during this, but something else was off, something else was pulling at my soul, something else that needed to be addressed. I started thinking more and more about what had happened, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was not just the fire that had been drawing people towards it; it was the little contraption they held in their hands -the Cell Phone-along with the need to film, to document, to feel like they belonged. Have you ever taken a moment to observe people lately? It is all about the cell phone. If you leave your house and notice you've forgotten your phone, you will turn around and retrieve it. If you leave the house and notice you've forgotten your sunglasses, or some mail you wanted to drop off, or anything else, do you turn around and go back to get it? Probably not. The world is dominated by cell phones; they have so much control over people that they live through them, have hundreds of friends they barely know, and the more followers they have, the better. Divine Interventions- She said she took the shotgun, loaded it, took it off safety, and was figuring out the best way to use it. She took the gun, aimed it up under her chin, and used her toe to pull the trigger. Nothing happened. She said she then rechecked the safety, which was off, made sure a bullet was loaded in the chamber, and did it again. Nothing happened. She used her toe and pulled the trigger several times, but still nothing. She said the trigger clicked, but nothing happened.
