Overview

In his most recent book, Mahmood recounts a true story of how a courageous band of media warriors assist a broken nation in finding a voice through the radio. In a country left in tatters by the Taliban, a group of local and foreign journalists headed by Mahmood risked everything to launch a radio programme based in Kabhul, disseminating much-needed information to the country’s people in the midst of the 9/11 aftermath. Despite the ever present threat of death, these individuals risked everything in their quest for freedom.
