She has participated in many fun activities with her golden retrievers. For example, her dogs--especially the real-life Karma--have appeared in commercials and print advertising. Good Girl, Karma is Laurie's second children's book. Her first book, Treasure's Gift, was published in 2016 and features her family's first golden retriever, Treasure. It is a Purple Dragonfly Book Award winner. Laurie and her husband, Robert, live in Ramsey, Minnesota. They have two children, Brian and Jessica. Minnesota-based artist Jessica Anlauf has always been artistically inclined and had an affinity for dogs. Early on, she was encouraged by her teachers to develop her skills in a wide range of artistic mediums, which led to her mixed-media style. She currently focuses on digital art. Jessica has won various awards at art fairs, as well as multiple blue and champion ribbons at her local county fair and the Minnesota State Fair. She has also taught art classes internationally.
