Author Information

Ruth Sanderson's career as a professional illustrator spans 40 years, and she has illustrated over 85 books for children, including many fairytales, such as The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Cinderella, Goldilocks, the Snow Princess, and Papa Gatto. The Golden Key, a Victorian fairytale by George MacDonald, features over forty of her scratchboard illustrations. Many of the pen and ink drawings for her first adult coloring book, THE WORLD OF FAIRIES, are based on her fairy paintings. THE TWELVE DANCING PRINCESSES Grayscale Adult Coloring Book is the first in a series entitled BEAUTIFUL FAIRY TALES, based on Ruth's picture book illustration. CINDERELLA is the second book in the series, GOLDILOCKS is the third, and many more are planned. Her coloring books are also available for purchase on her ETSY shop as PDF downloads, for people who would like to print on their paper of choice. Ruth is the co-director of the MFA in Children's Book Writing and Illustrating offered during summer terms at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.
