Golden Hour Postcards: The Architectural Treasures of Los Angeles

Overview

Golden Hour Postcards: The Architectural Treasures of Los Angeles by George Townley celebrates the iconic architecture of Los Angeles through the eyes of the renowned London-based illustrator. Known for his vibrant, mid-century modern-inspired artwork, Townley captures the essence of LA's sun-soaked landmarks, from the Griffith Observatory to the Hollywood Bowl, with a blend of nostalgia and contemporary flair. This collection of 8 glossy full color postcards features famed LA locals like the Chinese Theatre, the iconic Theme Building at LAX, as well as niche gems like the New Beverly Cinema and the googie inspired In-N-Out Westwood by Kanner & Associates. Townley's meticulous attention to detail and use of bold, warm tones evoke a dreamy, almost cinematic view of Los Angeles, emphasizing the city's cultural and historical significance in a modern context. Drawing on his personal experiences living in Southern California, Townley offers a fresh perspective on Americana and the architectural beauty of Los Angeles, making Golden Hour a must-have for art lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone captivated by the city's unique allure.
