Author Information

Rebecca Alpert is professor of Religion and senior associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University where she teaches courses on Sports and Society and Religion and Sports. Her major work in the field, Out of Left Field: Jews and Black Baseball was published by Oxford University Press (2011). Arthur Remillard is associate professor of Religious Studies at Saint Francis University. His writing on religion and sports has been featured both in scholarly and popular outlets such as The Washington Post and The Christian Century. A lifelong runner, he still enjoys racing distances from a mile to a marathon.
