God Hates Science

Overview

After exposing numerous physics fallacies in The 100 Greatest Lies in Physics Ray Fleming has turned his attention to exposing religion and arguments for the existence of gods in God Hates Science. It begins with a dissection of the laughably unscientific creation myth from the Book of Genesis, where the very idea of a beginning is a fallacy. Then he sets about to debunk all the popular arguments for existence such as, the argument from beauty, intelligent design, the ontological argument, biological complexity, and dozens more. He then makes an extensive refutation of the fine-tuning argument by showing in detail how the physical constants arise from zero-point energy. The constants are not fine-tunable. Saving the best for last, he constructs a philosophical argument proving the universe exists by default along with its zero-point energy and constants, and they account for everything. And he follows that with seven proofs of non-existence. Yes, it is possible to prove something doesn't exist, and he explains how. The writing is sometimes light hearted sprinkled with frequent pointed attacks, such as his reference to a soul as a brainless mind, an oxymoron. The book gets increasingly more serious as it progresses to the science arguments. The science, based on his book The Zero-Point Universe, will interest those who wish to better understand the properties of space through quantum field theory.
