There are 20 projects for a range of occasions, with a techniques section to get you started. * Machine Knitting Monthly, October 2025 * There are 20 different gnomes in this book that you can crochet. The projects are all nice and colourful, as well as easy to follow instructions.  It includes beautiful Christmas gnomes to put on your Christmas table. You've got projects such as Christmas tree gnome, Mrs Santa Gnome, Snowman Gnome, Halloween Gnome and more. The gnomes turn out to be around 4 and a half inches in height. What you can do is use thicker yarn and a bigger hook to get a bigger gnome. Obviously if you use thinner yarn and a smaller hook, you'll get smaller gnomes. You could put little key rings on these too.  Add gnomes onto cushion covers as how it shows in the book, or you could even put them onto cardigans and sweaters as well. You could even change the colours as well. You can gift these gnomes for your grandparents, aunties, children. -- Alison Russell

Author Information

Val Pierce's passion for crochet and knitting began when her father taught her to knit at the age of five. Having worked for many major yarn companies and various well-known designers, she decided it was time to branch out and begin making her own designs. Val's designs appear regularly in national knitting and crochet magazines. She also teaches a range of needlecrafts, to both adults and children and is one of Search Press's best-selling authors, having written more than 20 books, which have collectively sold nearly half a million copies.
