Author Information

Branko Milanovic is a Serbian American economist. A development and inequality specialist, he is currently a visiting presidential professor at City University of New York's Graduate Center and an affiliated senior scholar at the Luxembourg Income Study Center. He was formerly the lead economist in the World Bank's research department and a visiting professor at University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University. Between 2003 and 2005 he was senior associate at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington. He remained an adjunct scholar with the Endowment until early 2010. He completed his PhD at University of Belgrade in 1987 with the dissertation (published as a book in 1990) on economic inequality in Yugoslavia, using for the first time micro data from Yugoslav household surveys. Joe Barrett's 30 years as an actor includes appearances off Broadway in Reunion and on Broadway in Raggedy Ann. His television credits include The Conan O'Brien Show and The David Letterman Show. He has appeared in features films and has been seen in dozens of commercials.
