Overview

The group of eye conditions which cause damage to the optic nerve and vision loss is known as glaucoma. Gradual progressive loss of the visual field and optic nerve changes are the symptoms of open-angle glaucoma. Closed-angle glaucoma is accompanied by sudden ocular pain, red eye, high intraocular pressure, and vision of halo around lights.
