OverviewLocated at the northwest corner of the Great Pyramid, the Senedjemib Complex contains the well-known tombs of Senedjemib Inti and his son Senedjemib Mehi, who served the kings Isesi and Unis respectively as viziers and overseers of royal works. Excavations in 1912-13 revealed that the two tombs formed part of a great complex of family tombs erected around a paved court, and that four generations of the Senedjemib family served as viziers of Egypt and royal architects over a hundred year period in the later Old Kingdom. The tombs document changes in tomb architecture and decoration from the end of the 5th dynasty to the end of the 6th. Additionally they contain two lengthy autobiographical inscriptions. Published here in Part 1 are the tombs of Senedjemib Inti, Mehi and Khnumenti along with the autobiographical texts of Inti. A number of introductory chapters are dedicated to the work undertaken in the complex before 1912-13, the architecture and decoration of the tombs, and members of the Senedjemib family. The volume contains important evidence for our knowledge of Egyptian burial and society. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Edward Brovarski , Peter Der Manuelian , W. K.
