Many of the chapters start with defining words that are important to that particular topic if you come across a word that you don amp rsquo t know that isn amp rsquo t defined in the book, just do a quick Internet search for it. The language around sexuality, particularly as it applies to identity, is changing quickly. If there are words about identity that feel outdated, replace them with words that resonate for you.

This is a raw book that any teen girl will find enlightening. The book is definitely uncensored and offers a fully factual account of so many of the things that these young women will go through in their lives. The book goes through issues regarding relationships, sex, dating, romance and so much more. Karen Rayne, PhD, author of GIRL: Love, Sex, and Being You, is an educator, trainer, and nationally recognized expert on sexuality. Karen lives in Austin, TX, where she works with people of all ages to make information and conversations about sexuality accessible. Visit her at www.karenrayne.com. Ramsey Beyer, co-illustrator of GIRL: Love, Sex, and Being You grew up on a farm in Michigan before escaping to city life in Baltimore, MD, where she received a BFA in experimental animation.
