Overview

Recognized increasingly widely as one of the most original Italian composers of the early 20th century, Malipiero was the teacher of Maderna and Nono, and was revered by (among others) Dallapiccola. He was also a key figure in the revival of forgotten Italian music, such as Monteverdi. Waterhouse, in his analysis of Malipiero and his work has drawn on unpublished documents, and employs numerous musical examples.
