It once seemed like the world had been shaken by the coming of the System, leaving no chance for humanity to survive. But the System didn't always mean death! Yes, it had killed the majority of the population on the planet, making horrifying monsters out of the dead, who, in addition to everything else, had a tendency to evolve right in front of your very eyes. But that had also given people the opportunity to develop! That was to say nothing of the surprising new abilities and capabilities that specific people acquired. Humanity could not be preserved through them. At the very least, civilization could not hold on by riding on the coattails of a few powerful personalities. But the ability to found a System settlement, that was a real chance. People had to stick together, their most fundamental social instinct. Our own hero indeed had the good fortune to found his own settlement. But this would be a completely different story if it were just a regular settlement. A City of Ghosts . . . Alexey Kovtunov was born in April 1992. He had a regular childhood and went to a regular school, after which he decided to study medicine. Still, having graduated from medical college, he wasn't in a hurry to join the profession. In 2014, he got a job during the Sochi Olympics as a driver with the US Olympic Committee, after which he found a gig working as industrial abseiler. Only after that did he join an emergency aid team in his capacity as paramedic. It was an interesting job which definitely left its stamp on Alexey's writing. In medicine, black humor is often the only thing that can ensure one's sanity . . . His hobbies, too, have influenced his work as a writer: fishing, books, technologies, computer games . . . all of this eventually resulting in his love for LitRPG. But just as he started trying his hand at writing, the pandemic struck. Emergency teams toiled overtime, making Alexey way too busy with his medical work. Still, as soon as the situation improved, he got busy creating his own worlds . . . and he hasn't been able to give it up since. Jonathan Johns is something of a rarity, being a Cornish audiobook narrator. His unique voice, found within his Cornish heritage, goes a long way in bringing stories to life. Fully adept in character dialogue, voices, and narration, Jonathan has the ability to draw in the listener.
