Get Through MRCOG Part 2: OSCE

Overview

Achieved Highly Commended in the 2009 BMA Book Awards The MRCOG Part 2 clinical OSCE examination is the last hurdle candidates have to climb to achieve the prestigious Membership of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The examination tests a wide range of clinical skills and techniques, and successful completion requires thorough preparation. Get Through MRCOG Part 2: OSCE offers a uniquely systematic, comprehensive and focused approach to preparation for this exam. The first part of the book is divided by the areas that the OSCE stations are designed to test, for example, 'History and management', 'Counselling and breaking bad news' and 'Emergencies'. Each of these chapters begins with a description of what the station is testing and what approaches and preparation are required, supplemented where necessary by tips boxes and figures. This is followed, in every chapter, by thoroughly worked practice questions based upon the current exam, plus a summary box and list of references and resources. Two practice examination 'circuits', with fully worked questions and answers, are provided at the end of the book so candidates can test what they have learnt. With invaluable practical advice on techniques, as well as more traditional worked examples and practice papers, Get Through MRCOG Part 2: OSCE brings a truly unique approach to this examination and will be an essential revision guide for all MRCOG Part 2 candidates.

Reviews

The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, November 2009 I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone sitting the examination. It is an entire OSCE preparatory course in just 256 pages.

I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone sitting the examination. It is an entire OSCE preparatory course in just 256 pages. -- The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, November 2009 5 StarsThis book is a necessary book for preparation for the OSCEs of MRCOG Part 2. It is well structured and covers all the aspects of the exam. As far as I know it is the only book which covers sufficiently popular topics like instruments, procedures etc. The marking scheme is detailed and complete. If I had to buy only one book for OSCEs this would be definitely the one. -- Amazon Customer Review, May 2009 5 Stars: Must buy book for MRCOG -- Amazon Customer Review, May 2010
