OverviewGeorgia Loves Learning is a story of taking charge of your own education. Growing up as a Black child in Louisiana, Georgia Rogers missed every other week of school as she worked in the fields to help support her family. Her incomplete education always bothered her. As an adult she went back to school, wrote three books, and joined with six other students and teachers to start and run their own grass-roots school. Georgia's life is a remarkable arc in education. Written by Georgia Rogers and her friend and colleague Shash Woods, this book is oral history, Black history, biography, and a tale of advocacy and collaboration. It is designed to be accessible for both new adult readers, and those who have been reading for a long time.
