GEORGE understands that he might change history by discovering who really conquered Mount Everest. But GEORGE has a mission of his own: to learn more about how humans act and feel, and maybe - just maybe - find a friend. Book 1 in the GEORGE THE FLYBOT series. Reviews

Gr 2-4-Readers are introduced to a small but determined fly robot created by humans to assist on various missions in these series starters. With a limited battery that only lasts for one mission, GEORGE must recharge between adventures. In his first mission, he travels to Mount Everest to recover a camera lost during a 1924 summit attempt, adding a historical twist to his journey. His second adventure takes him to the French countryside on a treasure hunt to locate a valuable owl statue, with the proceeds destined for his favorite charity. As GEORGE embarks on these missions, he learns about human and animal emotions, often facing tough decisions that challenge his mission objectives. Based on real historical events, this series cleverly combines robotics with history. The grayscale illustrations complement the narrative, bringing GEORGE and his adventures to life. -VERDICT A great addition to any chapter book collection.--School Library Journal ""School Library Journal"" (12/1/2024 12:00:00 AM)
