Author Information

Knut Smoczyk ist Professor für Differentialgeometrie. Nach einem Studium der Mathematik und Physik promovierte er 1994 an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Von 1995 bis 1996 war er Feodor Lynen-Stipendiat der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung an der Harvard University und von 1996 bis 1998 Assistent an der ETH Zürich. Es folgte ein mehrjähriger Aufenthalt am Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften in Leipzig, wo er im Jahr 2000 an der Universität Leipzig habilitierte und im Anschluss als Privatdozent lehrte. Seit 2004 war er Heisenberg-Stipendiat, bevor er im Jahr 2005 an die Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover berufen wurde.
