Geoinformatics has truly emerged as a state-of-the-art technology and decision tool in the areas of facility-utility mapping, resource planning, disaster management, and e-governance. Recent advances in the field of remote sensing, in the Geographic Information System, and in the Global Positioning System have further enhanced the future potential of geoinformatics.
