Genesis: Creation: Gassmann Commentary on the Old Testament Vol. 1

Overview

For four decades, Dr. Lothar Gassmann has interpreted and explained entire books of the Bible or parts thereof in his sermons. The result of this rich work is presented in this commentary series with a total of 32 planned volumes (12 on the Old Testament, 20 on the New Testament). This series is characterized by three features: It takes God's Word seriously as it is written and avoids any form of biblical criticism. It bridges the gap between the Bible and the present day and provides numerous practical tips for our lives based on God's Word. Because it is based on freely delivered sermons, it is easy for every reader to understand. Dr. Lothar Gassmann, born in 1958, married to Anna, is a theologian, preacher, church founder, and evangelist. He has written more than 200 books on biblical and current topics. They have been published in over 15 languages. Contents In the beginning (Genesis 1:1-19) Each According to Its Kind (Genesis 1:20-2:4) From dust and the breath of life (Genesis 2:5-25) Did God really say? (Genesis 3:1-6) Curse, toil, death (Genesis 3:7-24) Spiral of violence (Genesis 4:1-16) Humanity spreads out (Genesis 4:17-5:32) Wickedness cries out to heaven (Genesis 6) Enter the ark! (Genesis 7) The waters recede (Genesis 8) See the rainbow in the clouds! (Genesis 9-10) Higher and higher... (Genesis 11:1-9) Could God have created the world in six days? Where does evil come from? Could Noah's Ark have floated? Was there room for all the animals? What does the Tower of Babel look like today? This book answers questions like these. The author assumes that the story of creation is a factual account that is of great significance for the present and for the end times. What we read on the first pages of the Bible is fundamentally important and highly relevant today!
