He worked at the State and Republican Centre of Clinical Lymphology, and at the Department of Surgical Diseases and New Endosurgical Technologies of the Moscow Medical and Dental University from 1998 to 2004. He achieved Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD) in 2001. His thesis topic was ""Endolymphatic application of proteolysis inhibitors and antioxidants in the complex treatment of diabetic angiopathy of the lower extremities"". He is a Member of the American Academy of Neurology (2021) and Member of the Executive Board of the Organization of Lymphologists of Russia (2021). He is a regular participant of congresses and conferences of lymphologists. Samokhin has authored more than forty papers, one monograph and three patents. In 2001, the Russian Ministry of Health approved the recommendations 'Methods of clinical lymphology in medical practice' and 'Methods of clinical lymphology in complex therapy of multiple sclerosis', developed by Grigoriy Samokhin."
