Overview

The term gender has become a popular buzzword among rural development professionals in recent times. The concept of gender mainstreaming has been integrated into various plans and programs established by both national and state governments. Many organizations have made gender-related training programs mandatory in their training agendas. Research scholars require secondary data to serve as a foundation for gender-related studies. In light of this, the authors have endeavored to present relevant literature from various sources and references to create a book focused on gender mainstreaming in the farm sector. The book comprises the following four chapters: 1. Status of Farm Women and Empowerment, 2. Gender Issues in Agriculture, 3. Mainstreaming Gender Through SHG, and 4. Rural Women and Empowerment.
