Overview

A collection of papers presented by judges, scholars, representatives of international organizations and MGOs at the Caribbean Regional Judicial Colloquium in Georgetown, Guyana in 1997. It provides an overview of the application of international human rights standards, examines the challenges of this application of international standards, and discusses how international human rights standards can be used to promote the rights of women and the girl child in domestic litigation. The volume seeks to highlight laws which demonstrate successful applications of international standards to advance women's interests in international courts.
