Karen Heimer is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Iowa. Karen Heimer is Professor of Sociology and Criminology, Collegiate Fellow in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and Distinguished Research Fellow of the Public Policy Center at the University of Iowa. She is the co-editor of Gender and Crime: Patterns in Victimization and Offending (NYUP 2005). Candace Kruttschnitt is in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto and is the co-author of Marking Time in the Golden State: Women's Imprisonment in California.
