Overview

A friend detained by ICE, her fund manager landlord murdered, a massive land development project that nobody wants and a contractor gig that puts her on the wrong side of the 'water wars.' Things aren't going well for former anthropologist Minoa Diamond as she reinvents herself in Santa Fe NM, but it gets worse when her clumsiness lands her friend in jail on a murder rap. Minoa must seek the real killer among corrupt lobbyists, a vengeful ex-wife, loads of angry ex-girlfriends, a scheming lawyer and aggrieved relatives. Does the murder have anything to do with a European bank's plan to profit off a stolen historic land grant? Or is it the result of a shocking custody flip that left an ex-wife with ties to cartels thirsty for revenge? Suspects keep multiplying while the poor little prairie dogs on the estate where Minoa rents a one-room guesthouse succumb to extermination. Minoa must race to figure out what millionaire investors, Mexican ex-wives, a proposed mini-city and a bunch of poisoned prairie dogs have in common.
