Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationEmad Qayed, MD, MPH is an assistant professor of medicine in Emory University Division of Digestive Diseases in Atlanta, GA. After completing medical training at the University of Jordan in Amman in 2004, Dr. Qayed finished a one-year internship at the Ministry of Health Hospitals in Amman, followed by one year of transitional medicine residency in the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Qayed completed his medical residency and gastroenterology fellowship training at Emory University in 2012. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Following graduation, he joined the faculty at Emory. In 2013, Dr. Qayed was named by GI fellows as the Division of Digestive Diseases' 'Attending of the Year.' In 2014, he published his first gastroenterology and hepatology review book, entitled Gastroenteroloy Clinical Focus, which has been very well received by fellows and gastroenterologists. In 2016, he co-authored a second review book, Sleisenger and Fordtran's Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease Review and Assessment, 10e, which contains more than 1,200 GI and hepatology board-style review questions. In 2016, Dr. Qayed received his masters in public health (MPH) from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Dr. Qayed is the section chief of gastroenterology at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta and associate program director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. He works closely with gastroenterology trainees and sees a diverse spectrum of patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. Dr. Qayed performs general endoscopic procedures as well as therapeutic ERCP and enteral stenting He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
