Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plants

Overview

Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plants discusses the solution of daily problems encountered in the design, development, optimization, operation, and maintenance of gas and steam turbine combined cycle power plants. It reflects developing trends within decarbonization and large power demand boost from hyperscale data centers accelerated by generative artifical intelligence (AI). The book contains a wealth of first principles-based calculation methods comprising key formulae, charts, rules of thumb, and other tools developed by the author over the course of 30+ years spent in the power generation industry. The revised edition features new and expanded sections on integrated gasification combined cycle and carbon capture and new chapters on recent developments such as “hyperscalers” and the role of gas turbines in decarbonization, with a special focus on hydrogen. This book is intended for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), consulting engineers, and plant operators involved with the design of power plants and large-scale factories. It will also benefit research and development studies in both academia and government/industry laboratories.
