She is the author of over forty books for children, including the award-winning picture books You're Safe With Me, You're Snug With Me, and You're Strong With Me, illustrated by Poonam Mistry. Chitra has lived in more than three countries and has published in Asia, North America and Europe. As well as writing books, she is a speaker, oral storyteller and toe-dipper in writing for the small screen.
