OverviewEbenezer Howard describes his ideas of a utopian city in which people can live in harmony with each other and with the surrounding nature. Howard greatly disliked the way modern cities tended to develop and was convinced that there were different methods of urban planning that would ensure healthy and reasonable living conditions for all inhabitants. His publication resulted in the founding of the garden city movement and the creation of Letchworth (Hertfordshire, UK) as a model garden city in 1899. Reprint of the 1902 edition.
