Reviews

Garbage Night has a playful design, great characterisation, and stunning colour work. The cute characters traverse through difficult scenarios, asking big questions along the way. It's a surprisingly deep, sweet read. -- Hailey Austin * The Slings & Arrows Graphic Novel Guide *

A simple yet absorbing tale of friendship and survival in a postapocalyptic world. -- Publisher's Weekly, STARRED REVIEW Contemporary fiction is full of postapocalyptic stories, but Lee's sly comic, about animals left behind after humans disappear, stands apart. -- Booklist, STARRED REVIEW For older teens who enjoy a good post-apocalyptic roadtrip adventure, Garbage Night: The Complete Edition by Benji Lee might be just the ticket. Simon (a very good dog) and friends Cliff (a cheeky raccoon) and Reynard (a soft-spoken deer) have been waiting for humans to come back for a long time and food is running out. At times intense and quiet, and shot through with moments of humour, this graphic novel is a meditation on grit, self-reliance, power and friendship. -- Juliette Saumande * Exploring Our World Through the Magic of Books - Sunday Independent *
