OverviewIn the crucible of 17th century New Spain, a prominent New Mexico family's legacy is forged amidst rebellion, reconquest, and relentless struggle. From the revolt in 1680 that shattered the fragile peace, to the contributions of the founding families that have lasted into the 21st century, Ron Ortiz Dinkel brings to life the epic story of his ancestors. In the form of a novel, several generations of Ortiz and Pino ancestors and the families into which they married are chronicled. They were ranchers, merchants, politicians, teachers, and devoted practitioners of their religion. They were passionate in both their beliefs and their appetites.
