OverviewThe built environment is at the epicenter of global sustainability challenges, facing unprecedented pressures from climate change to resource depletion to socio-economic disparities. Equally critical are the human-induced systemic frameworks. These frameworks include green finance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and accounting practices. They underpin sustainable urban development and drive transformative circular change and green growth. By unifying these dimensions, the built environment and the systems that shape it may become resilient and adaptable. Futureproofed Sustainability Amidst Climate Change Polycrisis: Advancing SDGs and ESG for the Cities of Tomorrow explores innovative strategies for transforming the built environment and practices that enhance the sustainability of cities. It analyzes financial accounting and auditing as well as the governance that enables sustainable development. Covering topics such as zero-emission urban regeneration, traditional ecological knowledge, and consumer skepticism, this book is an excellent resource for urban developers, economists, financial practitioners, sustainability experts, policymakers, professionals, researchers, scholars, academicians, and more.
