OverviewFundamentals of Medical Image Processing Using MATLAB presents basic image processing concepts and methodologies for better understanding and more meaningful retrieval of information of the internal structure of human organs. The image-processing concepts are discussed for different modalities of medical imaging, such as CT, MRI, PET, and SPECT, whichever is relevant for a particular case of medical diagnostics and therapeutic planning. Programming implementation of all algorithms is done in MATLAB. The book is suitable for two semester course in Medical Image Processing for undergraduate and postgraduate students of biomedical engineering, computer science engineering and IT. KEY FEATURES: Examples with MATLAB application. Artificial Neural Network in image processing. Different modalities of image processing. Shape theoretic approach of image processing. Topics like soft computing tools for image processing, image enhancement, segmenting, registration, visualization and retrieval make the book very comprehensive.
